Cocobay Resort – Ffreyes Bay
The Cocobay Resort is what one usually thinks of when one thinks of the Caribbean: small, pastel-colored luxury cottages dotting the shores of some of Antigua’s most pristine beaches. Each cottage faces the ocean with a private verandah and a hammock – the very picture one dreams about when one dreams of a tropical holiday. The Cocobay Resort is located on 10 acres overlooking Ffreyes Bay on the west coast of Antigua. In addition to the cottages, there are also four plantation houses at the top of the hill that are perfect for families or multiple couples who plan to vacation together.
The resort is all-inclusive and includes 3 meals a day at the Rafters restaurant. Breakfast and lunch are served buffet style and dinner is ala carte. On Thursday nights, there is a Caribbean Buffet and on Sundays, there is a West Indian Barbecue. There is also the Sheer Restaurant which caters to the public as well as the guests at the hotel. It consists of 6 romantic, open-air pavilions joined by boardwalks which overlook the ocean and the stars. It serves dinner only and reservations are required.
For activities, there are many things to do at the Cocobay Resort. Besides the incredibly stunning, Infinity pool and the azure waters of the beach, the hotel also has a spa called the Wellness Cottage. Treatments include massage, body scrubs and waxes, facials, manicures and more. For more active things to do, one can enjoy snorkeling, Sunfish sailing, kayaking, swimming, and other activities nearby. There is also live entertainment 3 to 4 nights a week and a weekly manager’s cocktail party.
