The Grenadian by Rex Resorts is one of the most popular and largest hotels on the island of Grenada. A typical all-inclusive beach resort, the Grenadian offers a wide variety of amenities for a wide variety of people. Within walking distance from the airport and only six miles from St. Georges, Grenada’s capital, taxis and buses are readily available to transport guests without hassle. A favorite spot for meetings and conventions, the Grenadian aims to make both business and leisure easy and relaxing. The majestic Palladian style hotel is set on 35 acres of hilly, partially forested land that slopes steeply downward to powdery white sands. While the rocky hills may require mildly strenuous walking, they also insulate the resort from noise, minimizing the noise from the airport or cars driving on the nearby roads. A two-acre seawater lake borders the rooms and guests may stroll along the footbridges and catch glimpses of fish, iguana and turtles.
All of the 212 rooms at the Grenadian offer hillside, lake or ocean views. From some rooms, guests can gaze across the Tamarind Bay to view St. Georges. The rooms are spacious with muted décor, often using cream and pale blue hues. All of the rooms differ slightly, but each accommodation offers rattan and wicker furniture that evokes the tropical atmosphere of the islands.
Beach lovers will have an ideal holiday as the Grenadian has two beaches—one for water sports such as windsurfing, scuba diving and sailing, and one purely for lounging in the hot Caribbean sun. Pink Gin Beach lies between the Grenadian and LaSource Luxury Beach Resort, and offers colorful sunsets, white sands and pleasant waters. Snorkelers and divers will love Pink Gin Beach because the shore slopes gently downward and the clear waters allow marine life to be seen in detail. The calm waters have almost no waves, which makes the beach ideal for children and beginning swimmers.
The Grenadian stresses the importance of children’s happiness while on vacation and offers a “Rexplorers!” Kids club for children ages 4 to 12 during select hours Monday through Friday. Rexplorers has a secret hideaway, special kids menu, activities and a play area. FA Premier League footballer Jason Roberts offers football training to children ages 5 to 16 at the Grenadian during school holidays. Babysitting services can be arranged at an additional cost for younger tots to give parents private time.
The four restaurants at the Grenadian offer a wide selection, including buffet style, barbeque, Eastern dishes, a la carte and poolside dining. Nighttime entertainment includes steel pan bands, limbo and cultural shows. The Grenadian is a non-smoking hotel but guests may smoke on the beach or in designated smoking areas.
