LaSource Luxury Beach Resort in Grenada is an all-inclusive spa and resort dedicated to the ultimate self-indulgent vacation. Advertising itself as “The Amazing Holiday,” LaSource strives to meet each guest’s individual needs, whether they relax through luxurious pampering or through active sports. The diversity makes LaSource a great Caribbean destination for couples or for best friends with differing personalities and desires. Single travelers will feel equally spoiled and at ease. The hotel is exclusive and private, surrounded on three sides by the Caribbean Sea and expanding over 40 acres of tropical gardens on the island’s southern tip.
The 100 guest rooms at LaSource all have full or partial ocean views and private balconies or terraces from which guests can view the fabulous sunsets known to fade over Pink Gin Beach. The rooms are spacious with hand-carved mahogany furniture and generous doses of sunlight. The marble-floored bathrooms have baths and showers and are stocked with bathrobes and quality toiletries. Suites on the top floor have hardwood cathedral ceilings for added space and light.
LaSource has four restaurants and three bars offering a diverse selection of light, low-calorie fare that aims to be healthy without sacrificing flavor. There is a snack bar, a beach bar and restaurant, a buffet, and a first-class restaurant with spectacular views of the mountain range of St. George’s, all using fresh ingredients from the islands when possible. The bars serve premium label liquors and local, Caribbean and International drinks. The chic Piano Bar has a resident pianist playing requests on a baby grand and board games for guests to play over lively conversations at wee hours in the morning.
A nine-hole executive golf course with a water feature trickling through it frames the property. Golf and standard land sports, including the less common fencing, archery, and bicycle tours are included. Water sports, including Hobie Cats and Sunfish sailing, aqua aerobics, and water skiing are also included. Pink Gin Beach is especially wonderful for snorkeling and scuba diving. The sandy shore gradually slopes downward with a floor of mostly sand with an occasional coral reef. The water is clear and the visibility is around 100 feet, so enthusiasts should be able to gaze at marine life easily. Pink Gin is a quiet beach, with few waves and clean, shimmering waters. For guests seeking a cool afternoon dip, there are three swimming pools at LaSource.
LaSource truly believes that pleasure and relaxation are the keys to total mind and body rejuvenation. The award-winning Oasis Spa provides one complimentary spa treatment daily, and an impressive selection of optional treatments for an additional cost. The Spa uses Pevonia products in its 17 treatment rooms and three wet rooms, including two Vichy shower rooms and one hydro-tub. Yoga, tai chi and meditation classes are included in peaceful, natural environments with well-trained instructors.
All-inclusive hotels often promote rigid schedules for guests; LaSource merely tries to provide a wide variety of options to its guests. About 35% of LaSource’s visitors are returning guests.
