The Hilltop Legacy sits at the highest point of downtown Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaii. The choice location of the hotel makes it possible for guests to take in the magnificent vistas below: the bustling city, the vivid white sand beach and blue water of Hilo Bay, and oodles of tropical trees and flowers. The myriad restaurants and attractions of Hilo are just a short stroll downhill.
The grounds of the hotel contain an interesting cross section of island features. There is a pond with koi and a waterfall and a small (dormant!) volcanic crater. The family horse is available for rides over the grounds, just like the paniolos of old Hawaii. For those who want a little more horsepower in their vacation, there is an all-terrain vehicle available to ride. The barbecue grill is open for cooking, and there is a full gym to work off the meal afterward. The lanais offer stunning views of one of the best sunrises in the Hawaiian islands.
There are four very affordable guest rooms, two with private baths. A refrigerator, microwave, and TV can be found in each, making it easy to wind down at the end of the night. The Legacy Suite is the finest of the rooms; it sleeps up to five, offers free high-speed internet, and a widescreen 52' television. It also features a private lanai with views of the bay.
A stay here will ease the mind and body. It will also ease the wallet, as rarely do hotels with such breathtaking views and comfortable rooms come with as reasonable a price tag as the Hilltop Legacy. This is the perfect location to begin an affordable and agreeable holiday in Hawaii.
Price Range: $75-$250 per night for double occupancy. Seasonal specials may apply; check website for details
