A flats fishing charter with Captain Chris and Big Kahuna can be either a half day or full day trip and your fees include boat, crew, fishing gear and tackle, but don’t include food or beverages, so plan on bringing those yourself. Any fish you catch on the trip are yours to keep. When you go into the flats, you can expect to encounter a variety of species including Bonefish, Permit, Tarpon, Barracuda, Sharks and Cobia and are equally welcome to fish for them on fly fishing gear, spinning gear or conventional tackle, all of which are supplied by the charter.
The boats in this fishery, including Captain Chris’s, are very specialized craft, capable of carrying two anglers and going into eight inches of water. To get there, Captain Chris will shut down and raise the outboard and pole into the flats, enabling anglers to sneak up on the fish and cast into just the right spot.
