Your charter on Flying Thief can be half day or full day and will include all fishing gear, tackle, bait and licenses, but your lunch and beverages are not included. For novice anglers, the charter also includes Captain Tom’s expertise in finding the fish and helping you to get your line on them as quickly and accurately as possible. It is highly recommended that you practice your casting, as that is the essence of sight fishing, as this type of fishing is known.
The boat used is a unique craft, being a light, shallow outboard skiff with a platform over the outboard motor. When you arrive at the flats, Captain Tom will raise the outboard and silently pole the boat through the water in search of the fish, who will be scouring the bottom in search of their next meal. When the fish are sighted, Captain Tom will direct anglers in getting their lines as close as possible. The rest is up to the anglers and they are in for the fight of a lifetime with their adversaries leaping high in the air as they keep them on the line and bring them closer and closer to the boat.
